The Group for Vaccination Advice, Guidance, and Consultation (GVA) for Foot-and-mouth and Similar Transboundary animal diseases in the Middle East. Aim The aim of the group for vaccination advice, guidance and consultation is to assist countries of the Middle East in the design and implementation of post-vaccination monitoring activities and act as a platform to exchange experience and expertise on vaccination for FAST diseases (FMD and Similar Transboundary Animal Diseases).

Visit to Harbin Veterinary Research Institute of China.

A few years ago I was lucky enough to be invited to visit the prestigious Harbin Veterinary Research Institute of China. There, I was given a tour of the BSL2 research facility. We also looked at the BSL3 and BSL4 research facility from the visitors zones. It was a truly great visit.
From our collaboration, we managed to establish the China-Egypt Joint Laboratory of Animal Disease Prevention and Control. The BSL3 isolators that you see in the gallery are partly a fruit of this collaboration. We hope to continue our collaboration in the near future.
