WELCOME

I have been affiliated with Cairo University since 2002, initially as a Teaching Assistant before being promoted to Professor in Dec. 2023. I completed my master's degree at Cairo University in 2007 and obtained my Ph.D. in 2012 through a joint program between CU and HU, Germany.

After receiving my doctorate, I pursued postdoctoral research at several universities, including Ege University in Turkey (2012-2013), Louisiana State University in the USA (2015-2016), and North-West University in South Africa (2019-2020). I am keeping abreast of the advances in environmental stressors, animal welfare, and genetics-related topics. I act as PI and co-PI of 5 international and national projects and serve on the editorial boards of 4 academic journals. I have supervised numerous master's and doctoral students, who worked on the applications of nanotechnology, biosecurity, water scarcity, and poultry welfare.

I was granted 2 patents in 2014 and 2023 and published several articles in peer-reviewed journals. Cairo University honored me with the CU Patent Award and the CU Encouragement Award for his contributions to agricultural science in 2014 and 2017, respectively. I am a member of several scientific societies and NGOs (including the Egypt Red Crescent). I have served as the general secretary of the Egyptian Animal Production Society since September 2019.

I also participated in an awareness campaign about avian flu organized by the Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture from 2006-2007. I was the general supervisor of the Al-Sharjah Sports Center and Student Union within the Faculty of Agriculture at Cairo University until November 2021. I was a board member of the Animal Care and Use in Research Committee (2018-2021), and a member of the organizing committee for the Egyptian Association of Animal Production Conference (2023 and 2024).
