Abstract:

Our knowledge of the effects of radiation are obtained from our practice of radiation therapy and our concerns about radiation tolerance. Also, from animal experiments, radiation accidents and effects of atomic weapons on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945. Our knowledge of radiation is not complete but it is sufficient to know the dose limits and the morbidity and mortality caused by radiation.
