Dr. Ahmad obtained his B.Sc. degree in 1995 from the Faculty of Science of Cairo University (Chemistry major). Since then, he is a Faculty Member of the Chemistry Department at Cairo University. He received his master degree in physical Chemistry (Surface Science) and doctorate degree in Physical Chemistry (Silicon Nanofabrication) from Cairo University, respectively in 1999 and 2004. In 2001, he joined The Pennsylvania State University as a Research Assistant for two years where he developed a novel procedure to fabricate Metallic/Si Nanowire contacts where the contact’s interface grow along the cross sectional of the nanowire. In 2005, Dr Ahmad joined Tokyo Institute of Technology for two years as a Post Doctorate Fellow to develop efficient titanium and tantalum oxide anodes for ozone electro-generation in collaboration with Sanyo Electric Co., Ltd. In Sept. 2011, Dr Ahmad joined the Department of Chemical Engineering at the British University in Egypt "BUE" as an Associate Professor until Aug. 2015. In September 2015 he joined back Cairo University. His research focuses on nanomaterials (fabrication, characterization, and calculations) for potential applications in fuel Cells, in particular, and energy conversions, in general. Wastewater treatment and Environmental research is also a focus for my research group. He has so far co-authored over 45 peer reviewed journal publications and participated in 60 international conferences. His awards include the A Helen R. And Van H. Lechliter Graduate Fellowship from the Pennsylvania State University in 2003, MRS Ribbon Award in 2005, Tokyo Institute of Technology Postdoctoral Fellowship in 2005, Best Thesis Supervision Award from Cairo University in 2012, Cairo University Encouragement Award in Basic Science 2013 and Cairo University Publication Award from 2009-2016.
