·         "Abdul Fattah Ismail" award for the top 3 graduates of the department of chemistry-Cairo University with a money gift equivalent to $50, 1995.

·         A channel fellowship received from the Egyptian government (Mission Department) to earn the PhD degree (in a channel Egyptian-US program), 2000- 2004.

·         A Helen R. And Van H. Lechliter Graduate Fellowship from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, The Pennsylvania State University, US, (2003).

·         MRS Ribbon Award (top 5% of conference papers), 2005.

·         Tokyo Institute of Technology fellow from July 2005-July 2007

·         Qassim University Award- 31 March 2008- upon giving a general lecture on Nanotechnology

·         "Best thesis award" from Cairo University for supervision of the M.Sc. thesis entitled "Electrocatalysis of the oxygen evolution reaction at metal oxide nanostructured modified electrodes" by Ibrahim M. Sadiek - June 2012.
