Rania Zayed is a professor of Clinical and Chemical Pathology, Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University, Egypt. She is the coordinator of Community Service and Environmental Development Sector, Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University. She was assigned as secretary of the Board of Clinical and Chemical Pathology, the Department’s Coordinator of e-learning, and an arbitrator for examining the scientific production for the positions of professors and assistant professors (2019-current). She served as a member of the faculty board during the accreditation process by the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation in 2017. She was the department’s Coordinator of Postgraduate Studies and the department representative for the quality of education during the academic years 2017-2021. She was the Co-director of heath sector at the International Relations Office (2018-2020).
She has been selected to take the responsibility of organizing the departments’ scientific events, workshops, and conferences. In addition, she took part in organizing annual conferences for reputable national and international scientific societies i.e., Egyptian Society of Laboratory Medicine (ESLM), Egyptian Society of Hematology and Research (ESHR) and the European Hematology Association (EHA).
During her career advancement, she received a 6-month certificate program in 2022 (Harvard Medical School Postgraduate Medical Education, Egypt Training to Teachers Program) and a 6-month “Health Care Quality Management” professional training course at the Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University. The course provided fundamental knowledge for management.
She has been invited as a speaker in national and international conferences and received awards twice for her presented research; Best Poster Award in 2019 at American College of Gastroentrology (ACG) annual meeting, Texas, USA and Excellent Paper Award in 2014 at the 2nd International Conference on Biological and Medical Sciences –ICBMS, Bali, Indonesia.
