About Me
AbdElMoniem Bayoumi is an assistant professor of computer engineering at Cairo University, where he teaches and researches cognitive robotics and deep learning. He has over 12 years of academic experience and a PhD in computer science from the University of Bonn in Germany (at the Humanoid Robots Laboratory of the University of Bonn under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Maren Bennewitz). He is also a member of the Technical Office of Advisor to Minister for Technology Talents Development at Egypt's Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT). In this role, he was involved in several projects and tasks; for instance, he currently manages the content development unit at DECI Initiative. Previously, he led the robotics track and the international office of the DEBI Scholarship Program, which aims to develop the skills and competencies of Egyptian engineers in emerging technologies. He also founded and managed the DEBI Robotics Challenge, a physical competition showcasing Egyptian universities' innovation and creativity in robotic software, AI, and autonomous capabilities. He is passionate about advancing the field of robotics and AI in Egypt and the region and has published several papers in top robotics and AI conferences and journals. Furthermore, he has contributed to the industry as an artificial intelligence consultant.
