Short Bio:
Yassin Khalifa was born in Egypt, received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in 2010 and 2013 respectively from Biomedical Engineering Department, Cairo University where he is now a Teaching and Research Assistant since 2010. He participated in several research projects hosted by governmental and industry partners like Prodcution Automation using Integrated Sensor Networks, Thermal Imaging Applications in Farms and National Adoption of Boradband by the Egyption Healthcare System. His research interests include Big Data Analytics, Data Science, Deep Learning, Signal Processing, Computer Vision, Image Processing and Embedded Processing.
Technical Skills:
Big Data Analysis Tools: Analytics using MapReduce programming paradigm – Apache Spark - Hadoop FS, Data Ingestion using Apache Flume and Sqoop, HIVE, HBase, PIG - In-database analytics using MADLib.
Programming & Scripting languages: C, C++ and Java under both Linux and Windows – C# - Python - Julia - MATLAB/OCTAVE – R – VHDl.
IDEs: MS Visual Studio – NetBeans – RStudio – Code Composer Studio - Xilinx ISE and Vivado Design tools.
Toolkits, APIs & Toolboxes: OpenCV “Open Computer Vision Library” – OpenGL – VTK.
