Professor Hosny earned a BSc Degree in Chemistry in 1980 with honor from Cairo University. She earned a Master Degree in Physical Chemistry (1983) and a PhD degree in Inorganic Chemistry (1988) from the same university. She became an Assistant Professor in 1995 and a Professor in 2001 in the same field. In addition to her university career, she had been working for ACCA, an industrial company for manufacturing industrial adhesives, as an R&D manager for 10 years. She developed many products that serve different industries.
The research interests of Prof. Hosny are in the following areas:
1. Complexation of biological active compounds with different transition elements.
2. Studies of Cis-Platinium Complex
3. Complexes of different transition elements with different polymer
4. Studies of different antibiotic with copper metal.
Prof. Hosny authored and co-authored over 30 papers published in renowned international scientific journals and delivered several presentations in international and national conferences. She also supervised several theses that led to the MSc and PhD degrees. She developed the curriculum materials for the second, third and fourth levels. She took many courses for the e-learning section.
