Dr. Tamer Elkhatib is currently an assistant professor at Engineering Mathematics and Physics Department, Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University, He is also Adjunct Assistant professor at the center for nanotechnology at Zewail City of Science and Technology and he is currently an assistant director of IP management at Technology Pyramid, in Zewail City of science and technology. Dr Elkhatib received his B.Sc with honors in electronics and communication engineering, and his M.Sc with honors in engineering physics, both from Cairo University, EGYPT, in 2002 and 2006 respectively. He has received his Ph.D in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, USA, in 2010. He later joined Microsoft Corporation as a Scientists developing the next generation of Kinect 3D depth sensors in XBOX team and then 3D depth technology in HoloLens until November 2017.
His research interests includes, THz/millimeter wave detection and imaging, near field terahertz microscopy, smart biosensors, time-of-flight sensors, CMOS Image Sensors, Solar Cells. So far, he has authored and coauthored about 20 publications in referred journal articles and in peer-reviewed conference proceedings, and he is inventor of 6 patents (4 granted and 2 pending).
