Sobhy Ibrahim is a Professor in the Department of physics (Materials Science) at Cairo University. He received the B.Sc.(1980) in Physics and Master in Physics (1985), Physics Department, Cairo University, Egypt.  He also received his PhD in Materials Science from Physics Department in Egypt, in 1991. From 2004-2005 he was a postdoctoral research fellow at Tokyo Science University – IDABASH  – Tokyo - Japan. During this time, he works as co-author with professor FURUKAWA in the field of piezoelectricity of PE-PVDF polymer blend to enhance its piezoelectric coefficient for ultrasonic applications.

During the interval from 2005 to 2011 he worked as a researcher in materials science Lab with Professor Dr. Muhammad Amin Soliman (Cairo University) and he published many research articles in addition to supervising of many scientific theses. After graduating to an associate professor, he traveled to work at King Faisal University - College of Science - Department of Physics for a period of ten years. During this interval he published many researches articles in addition to the strategic projects financially supported by the King Abdullah City for Science and Technology. He has judged numerous scientific research papers in many reputable scientific journals.
