Professor of Pharmaceutics and Industrial Pharmacy

Prof. Elkheshen has occupied a deanship position at Faculty of Pharmacy, Future University in Egypt on 2012 through 2020.  As the Dean, Prof. Elkheshen leaded the faculty to the establishment of a total quality assurance system for good education procedures until the faculty received accreditation by the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education, NAQAAE in 2016. She also occupied the position of Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs at the Faculty of pharmacy - Cairo University from 2009 to 2011through which she contributed to the development of the total quality assurance system for good education practice until the faculty had the accreditation by the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education, NAQAAE in 2011.Besides holding her position as a full professor of pharmaceutics and industrial pharmacy at faculty of pharmacy- Cairo University she also was consultant at the National Organization for Drug Control and Research “NODCAR” and Principle Investigator of the Bioavailability and Bioequivalence Center at NODCAR from 2004 to 2005.

 

Prof. Elkheshen has been in the academic field for more than 35 years. She worked for developing graduate and post graduate programs. At 1995 she worked for College of Pharmacy at King Saud University in Riyadh, KSA, on a leave of absence from Cairo University, where she held the post of Assistant Professor of Pharmaceutics from 1995 to 1998 and Associate Professor of Pharmaceutics from 1998 to 2001.  In 2003, Prof. Elkheshen was promoted to full Professor of Pharmaceutics and Industrial Pharmacy at the Faculty of Pharmacy - Cairo University. She also served as Part time professor at Misr international university 2002-2004, German University in Cairo 2004-2005 and Ain Shams University 2006-2008 to develop and deliver undergraduate and graduate programs and courses. 

 

Prof. Elkheshen is a member of the Egyptian Syndicate of Pharmacists, The Pharmaceutical Society of Egypt, the Syndicate of Pharmacists of Cairo Governorate, the Egyptian Pharmacists Club and the Club for the Faculty Members of Cairo University.  She was a member of the American Association for Pharmaceutical Scientists “AAPS” from 1992 to 1994,  She has been a member of the AIM Global Deans’ Forum, FIP Centennial Congress since 2012 through 2020 representing the Future University in Egypt in their meetings as the dean of Pharmacy at FUE.

 

Prof. Elkheshen took part in numerous symposiums, seminars and conferences in Egypt, the United States of American and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. She published more than 50 research articles in national and international journals including Journal of Pharmaceutical Research and Opinion and European Journal of Pharmaceutics and Biopharmaceutics, Drug development and Industrial Pharmacy and others.  She has supervised the work of more than 20 MSc and PhD students. Her research focuses is on drug delivery systems both conventional and novel and the role of polymers in modifying their fate in the human body.

 

Prof. Elkheshen holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the Faculty of Pharmacy at Cairo University and a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences (Pharmaceutics) from Cairo University with joint supervision from State University of Rhode Island, USA. Prof. Elkheshen started her career as Teaching Assistant at the Faculty of Pharmacy - Cairo University and was promoted in 1987 to Assistant Lecturer.  From 1990 to 1991, Prof. Elkheshen was a Teaching Assistant & Research Assistant at the College of Pharmacy- University of Rhode Island, USA through a peace fellowship program to complete her PhD research and had her PhD degree from Cairo University in 1992.
