Bio
Sally Khalifa Isaac is Professor of Political Science (International Relations) at both Cairo University and the British University in Egypt.
B.Sc. degree in Political Science, Cairo University (2001), Ph.D. degree in International History, Universita' degli studi di Milano, Italy (2006).
Bio:
Isaac has been a Mediterranean-Dialogue Research Fellow at the NATO Defense College (2010), a post-doctoral fellow at the Kolleg-Forschergrupe KFG of the Freie Universitaet Berlin (2011-2012); a visiting scholar at the Center for Middle East Politics at the Freie Universitaet Berlin (2013); and a visiting senior research fellow at the Istituto per gli studi di Politica Internazionale ISPI in Milan (2014).
Isaac is a Middle East specialist with a particular focus on strategic and security studies in the the Mediterranean, the MENA region, and the Horn of Africa. Her publications tackle mainly Euro-Arab relations, US-Egyptian Relations, NATO-Arab partnerships, Inter-Arab relations, Arab regional organizations, and Egypt's domestic and foreign policies. She has previously collaborated with the USAID; The European Parliament, Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, MAEM-MENA Association, the DAAD, Carnegie Europe Center, Istituto Affari Internazionali, and many other national and European institutions and research centers. Besides her teaching experience at Cairo University, she has given lectures in the Free University of Berlin, University of Padua, the Egyptian Command and Staff College, and Egypt’s National Defense Council. She is also a member of some national and international committees, such as the Advisory Board of the United Nations University Institute on Globalization, Culture and Mobility (UNU-GCM) in Barcelona.
Isaac is an Egyptian national and speaks Arabic, English and Italian fluently.
