Dr. Sahar Mansour graduated from the Cairo University Faculty of Medicine in 1998 and completed her studies for the MD in Radiology from Cairo University in 2009. Since that date she has been working as a staff member in the radiology department, and she was nominated as a professor of radiology in June 2019 without evaluation by the local promotions committee due to her achievement of the scientific excellence standard in international publication in her field of expertise. She has been working in the women’s imaging (breast, gynecology, and obstetrics) field since 2003 till present, has contributed to many national and international publications, and has introduced to the Middle East community multiple advanced MR protocols for imaging of the placenta, semi-quantitative dynamic post contrast imaging of the ovaries, and MR spectroscopy of the ovaries.
She is a recognizable radiologist in Egypt for working in the field of artificial intelligence and breast cancer screening and diagnosis and is distinguished for her outstanding research contribution in that field.
Dr. Mansour was an active member in the Women’s Health Outreach Program at the Ministry of Health that was established in October 2007 and continued until 2019.
She has held various academic and professional positions, including coordinator of the radiology sector at Kasr ElAiny Hospital, Cairo University (2019- till present) in the presidential program for screening of breast cancer as a part of the initiative “100 Million Health” that was set up in Egypt to screen breast cancer in Egyptian ladies. In May 2024, I was nominated as general coordinator at Kasr ElAiny Hospital, Cairo University (2024- till present), and recently (September 2024), I was nominated as University Hospitals Cairo regional coordinator of the National Breast Cancer Screening Program (Cairo, Giza, and Qalyubia Governorates). She is also the coordinator of the Cairo University Professional Diploma of Breast Imaging and Intervention (2020-to-present). Dr. Mansour is an active board member and chief scientific committee of the Egyptian Society of Breast Imaging (EGSBI) (2020-to-present) and associate editor at the “Egyptian Journal of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine, EJRNM.”.
In addition to her academic and governmental breast imaging roles, Dr. Mansour is a senior breast imaging consultant and research radiology sector coordinator at the Baheya Center for Early Breast Cancer and Treatment (2020-to-present), which is a non-profitable non-governmental organization that provides free breast imaging services for Egyptian women.
Dr. Mansour also had many contributions in national and international conferences in the field of pathology, medical oncology, and radiology, for example, RSNA and ECR with oral presentations and scientific E posters, and was awarded by Cairo University for her international publication from 2012 till present.
