Bio

Professor Kamel is a professor of Rhinology at Cairo University, Egypt. His main interests are Endoscopic Sinonasal Surgery, Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery. Allergy, Smell disorders and Sleep Disorders. He had his Fellowship at Johns Hopkins University, USA. He published more than 25 articles in the field of Endoscopic sinionasal surgery, allergy and smell disorders and a book titled Anatomy of the Lateral Nasal Wall, Ostiomeatal complex and Anterior Skull Base. He has made more than 750 presentations at international Conferences and participated in more than 200 FESS courses all over the world. He introduced four new sinonasal endoscopic instruments manufactured by Karl Storz Co. and distributed worldwide.

Professor Kamel is a reviewer of several international Journals including the Laryngoscope, American Journal of Rhinology, Rhinology, Skull Base, European Journal of Otorhinolaryngology and The Annals of Otology, Rhinology & Laryngology. Currently he is the is the and is the chief editor editor of the Pan Arab Journal of Rhinology (PAJR).
He is a member of many international societies including; International Rhinologic Society [IRS], American Academy of Otolaryngic Allerygy [AAOA], Collegium Oto-Rhino-Laryngologicum Amicitiae Sacrum [CORLAS], International Symposium of Infection and Allergy of the Nose [ISIAN] and European Rhinologic Society [ERS]. He has the privilage of serving as the founding president of the Pan Arab Rhinology Society [PARS] and Egyptian Rhinology Society [ERS].

Professor Kamel is the X- president of the International Rhinologic Society [IRS] and the International Symposium of Infection and Allergy of the Nose [ISIAN]. He served as the president of the IRS/ISIAN Conference in Sharm Al-Sheikh- Egypt & Dubai November, 2014.

Professor Kamel received many international awards, the latest is The Arab Health Karl Storz Award for Excellence in Teaching. It was awarded to him because of his untiring contributions to the advancement of sinus endosocpy skills around the Middle East. He received also many national rewards including; the Prize of the Academy of Scientific Research, the National Prize of Encouraging Scientific Research, the Egyptian National Reward in Advanced Scientific Research.
