AbstractSummary: The thesis aimed to measure the attitudes of the Egyptian public towards the performance of Mubarak Regime (president and government) according to the evaluation of their approaches towards the most popular human rights cases handled in the media in talk show programs prior to the 25th of January revolution. All this is done according to the hypothesis of priming theory as a theoretical framework for the study. The study used the survey method and questionnaire applied on a quota sample of 600 egyptian person above 18 years old, who watched talk show programs before and after the 25th January revolution inhabiting three main governerates as representatives of the Egyptian public with all its various economic, social and educational standards.
The Main Results were:
-Most of the respondents (with 81%) were against Mubarak regime, 77% agreed that the regime’s performance in the human rights field was the main reason for the 25th of January Revolution
- The majority of the sample (69%) high to medium (31%) refused Mubarak regime, and there were no opponents with low rates.
- The five most important political and civil rights that have been violated in the Mubarak era from the perspective of the respondents, were: (the right to preserve life - the right to have equal opportunities and equal access to work - the right to have respect for the human dignity of the accused and imprisoned - the right to move or travel - the right to peaceful assembly in demonstrations and strikes).
- The five most important economic, social, cultural, environmental and developmental rights that have been violated in the Mubarak era from the perspective of the respondents came as follows: (right to the provision of basic needs - the right to work and workers' rights - the right to have health care - children's rights - the right in education).
- Most respondents assessed the overall performance of the Mubarak regime as (largely failed with a rate of 87%), determining the most categories in which the regime failed as follows: " the stability of security situation – absence of formal and non-formal political violence - fairness and impartiality and independence of the judicial system - freedom of opinion and expression - supremacy of the Constitution and respect of law. "
- It was not proven that the intensity of exposure to talk shows programs about human rights issues before the January revolution events had any effect on public attitudes towards Mubarak regime and their assessment of their general.
