Dr. Abdalla S.A. Mohamed has Ph.D. in Systems& Biomedical Engineering (1982). He got B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering (1970), M.Sc. in Computer Science (1974), and M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering (1978).
Dr. Mohamed joined Cairo University, Egypt as Assistant Professor in 1983 and entitled a Professor in 1993. He was chairman of Systems &Biomedical Engineering department, Cairo University from 2001 to 2007, and became Professor Emeritus in 2007. He became a Deputy Vice Dean for education, Faculty of Engineering, Misr University for Science and Technology [MUST], Egypt from 2008 to 2010. Now he is a Professor Emeritus in Systems &Biomedical Engineering department, Cairo University
In 1984, he was awarded a scholarship from NIH, Maryland, for Medical Instrumentation Prototyping. During 1985-1986, he joined group of System Engineering, University of Waterloo, Canada. He was Assistant Professor in Department of Computer Science, University of Regina, Canada (1986-1989) and Associate Professor in Faculty of Medicine & Health Science, University of United Arab Emirates (1991-1993).
His research interests are concentrated in the fields of Biological signals processing, Medical images analysis, Pattern Recognition, and Medical Decision Making.
