Bio

Dr. Neveen B. Talaat is a Professor of Plant Physiology at the Department of Plant Physiology, Faculty of Agriculture, Cairo University, Egypt. She is one of the Top 2% scientists worldwide identified by Stanford University in 2021, 2022, and 2023. She received her BSc in Agricultural Biochemistry. She received her MSc and PhD in Abiotic Stress Physiology and Plant Biology from Cairo University, Egypt. As a ICGEB (International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology) postdoctoral researcher she has worked on silencing POR (light-dependent NADPH:protochlorophyllide oxidoreductase) gene during the period of 2004-2006. Her current research program focuses on understanding physiological, biochemical, and molecular mechanisms underlying improving abiotic stress tolerance in plants by using environmental friendly plant growth regulators. Her studies also focus on Plant-Microbial interactions. She was Principal Investigator of several research projects. She has over 44 international publications and has contributed to 8 books, published by Wiley, Springer, Elsevier,  as well as Taylor & Francis.
