Dr Nadra-Elwgoud Abdou is an associate professor of Infectious Diseases, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Cairo University. Successfully attended two training courses at The Veterinary Epidemiology and Economics Research Unit (VEERU), Department of Agriculture, University of Reading. UK.

-Veterinary Epidemiology- Theory and Practice January / February 1999.
-Information Systems for Livestock –Data and Information Management February / March 1999.

Since 2009 till now working as Specialist of Epidemiology & Infectious diseases at Public Authority of Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources, Kuwait.

Work Experience 

  • Demonstrator, assistant Lecturer & Lecturer is work, which devoted to teaching, Laboratory demonstration of infectious diseases courses & Epidemiology course to undergraduate Veterinary student and research work.
  • Working as a Veterinarian in the hospital of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Cairo University since Nov., 2nd 1994 and till Aug., 4th 2005 where up to 20 cases of animals per day (pets and large animals) submitted for clinical examination, treatment and vaccination. 
  • Working experience in Mycoplasma laboratory as trainee during Master and PhD degrees. 
  • Experience in diagnosis and control of zoonotic diseases that transmitted from animals to human. 
  • Participating as a member of the technical team to prepare the Gulf unified guidance plan to control some infectious animal diseases (Brucellosis, TB, FMD, Sheep and goat pox and PPR).
  • Preparing reports about Infectious diseases in Gulf area; for example, 
  1. “Risk Assessment: Outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza A (H5N8) in GCC countries (2017-2018)” discussing and assessing the last outbreaks of H5N8 in GCC. 
  2. Preparing “Epidemiological maps for diseases that appeared in the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council from 2011 to 2017”
