1. Mohamed El-Refaiy

Mohamed is working on combining graphene with silicon nanostructures for photovoltaic application. He established a CVD system for graphene production and transfer to sillicon nanostrctures. His sysyetm is working quite well and he succeded recently to acheive good results.

2. Asmaa Mohamed Abdelaleem

Asmaa joined our group on 2015. She was requested to focus her study on silicon-based photonic crystals constructed from nanoporous silicon. During her M. Sc study, she used the photonic structure with variavble pore size for filtering application. Her Ph. D work was focusing on the utilization of one-dimensional silicon-based photonic crystals for omnidirectional mirrors applications. Omnidirectional mirrors have the ability to reflect the incident light over a range of wavelengths at all angles of incidence irrrespective of the type of polarization. She left our group on 2024.
