I Received a B.Sc in geophysics from Cairo University in 1985. 1n 1989 I received the M.Sc in potential fields also from Cairo University and in 1993 I received the PhD from Cairo University/Cologne University (Germany) through the DAAD cooperation program in potential field inversion and interpretation from the faculty of mathematics and natural sciences in Cologne. I joined the continental deep drilling project (KTB) in Germany and worked with the interpretation and modelling of the Borehole gravity data (BHGM ) acquisition and interpretation. I am a staff member at Cairo University since 1985. I was the head of the geophysics department, Faculty of Science, Cairo University during the period from 2014-2021. From 2003 to 2013 I worked at King Abdulaziz University as a Professor of geophysics (potential fields). My expertise includes the Inversion of potential field data using regularized algorithms, artificial intelligence, Heuristic regularised solutions, parameter estimation, and geophysical MATLAB applications. I conducted many research projects in different fields including archaeo-geophysics, oil exploration, groundwater studies, Gold mineralization, and structure identification using geophysical potential fields. I supervised the geophysical teams that cooperated with the Faculty of Archaeology in the archaeological discoveries in Tuna El Gabal, 2017, and Saqqara ( 2018). I am a member of the Standing Committee of Egyptian Antiquities. I am the PI of the CU project: “Geophysical and geological studies as a key to strategic sustainable utilization of fossil groundwater: a feasibility study to future development plans in Siwa /Qara oasis, western desert, Egypt” and a researcher in many of the STDF national projects aiming to increase the natural resources and developments in Egypt.
