Bio

Dr. Ismail is an Associate Professor in the Department of Structural Engineering at Cairo University, Egypt. His research expertise encompasses concrete structures and sustainable construction materials, the strengthening and rehabilitation of concrete structures, and modeling complex structural behaviors using artificial intelligence and data-driven models.

Dr. Ismail obtained his Ph.D. degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada (2017), followed by three years as Postdoctoral Fellow at Memorial and two years at McMaster University, Canada, during this period he was involved in a multi-disciplinary research focusing on the innovation of new construction materials using industrial wastes, structural performance of high-performance cement-based composites and lightweight concrete, and utilizing AI/ML to interpret complex structural behaviors.
