I finished my PhD in the faculty of science,CairoUniversity. During my PhD I synthesized a variety of new Supramolecular hydrogen-bonded liquid crystals and I gained a great experience in the investigation of the phase behavior of the liquid crystalline materials using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and polarized light microscopy (PLM).
In 2011 I was able to initiate a very good contact with the professional scientist Prof. Carsten Tschierske (Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg, Germany) then I got a postdoctoral fellowship from DAAD for six months to visit his lab and in 2012 I got a second fellowship from the Alexander von Humboldt foundation for two years to complete my research activities. During my work in Germany I got more experience in the synthesis of bent-core liquid crystals and their characterization techniques including NMR spectroscopy, DSC, PLM, electro optic methods and XRD studies. Also I discovered new liquid crystal phases and I published the results in very good journals. Currently I am an Associate Professor in Organic Chemistry at Cairo University since 12. 2014.
I have acquired a solid teaching experience from my work in Cairo University for several organic chemistry courses. Experience has taught me to work independently, within a team as well as cross-teams and also to build strong relationships with all Departments at an organization.
