(April 17th 2019): PhD thesis defense “Efficiency of Novel (Modified Grayson) Techniques for Nasoalveolar Molding and Taping on Parents’ Satisfaction and Short Term Treatment Outcomes in Infants with Unilateral Complete Cleft Lip and Palate: A Randomized Controlled Trial”.

(October 2012 – September 2015): MSc student at department of Orthodontics, Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine, Cairo University. Graduated at the top of the class 2015, ranked first among 30 students and grade excellence with score of 86.9%.
(June 2013-May 2015): MSc thesis Project with title of “Effect of Soft Laser on the rate of canine retraction: a Randomized controlled trial”. This thesis was evaluated, discussed and accepted by an exam board consisted of 4 orthodontic professors. Currently, I’m working on publishing 3 articles in an international orthodontic journals.
(May 2009): BDS of Oral and Dental Medicine, Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine, Cairo University. Graduated at the top of the class 2009, ranked second among 500 students and grade excellence with highest honors with score of 91.21%.
(May 2004): El-Manar Language School: Egyptian high school degree with a score of 96.5%.
RESEARCH
INTERESTS: Orthodontics, Orthopedics, Orthognathic surgery, Cleft lip and palate, Treatment of Dentofacial Anomalies.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERINCE:
(May 2019-present): Member, American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association (ACPA).
(February 2018-present): M Orth RCSEd.
(October 2011-present): Working in the field of Orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics, treating hundreds of patients in Cairo University and in multiple private clinics.
(September 2016- present): Faculty member (Assistant Lecturer) at the department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, Faculty
of Dentistry, Cairo University responsible for the following tasks:
• Demonstrating wire bending for undergraduate students.
• Performance of problem based learning to the undergraduate students.
• Presentation of mini-lectures to undergraduate students.
• Participation with the professors in designing the exams for undergraduate students.
• Presenting (at least 3-4 times / semester) the latest articles in the field of orthodontics in 2 journal clubs.
(November 2015 - present): working on the foundation of CLAPS (cleft lip and palate special unit) in the Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine, Cairo University aiming for management of cleft lip and palate patients with an interdisciplinary team. It also aims for performance of high quality research in the field of cleft lip and palate management in all specialties.
(November 2015 - present): a member in cleft lip and palate team in Abu El-Reesh pediatric hospital in Cairo, helping them in:
• Assessing the pediatric surgeons in diagnosis of new cases of cleft lip and palate patients from the orthodontic point of view.
• Orthodontic Management of cleft lip and palate patients at different ages;
50 naso-alveolar molding appliance for infants with age range from 7 days till 4 months.
10 pre grafting patients (age around 10 years).
5 adult patients indicated for orthognathic surgery.
(July 2015 – September 2016): Faculty member (Demonstrator) at the department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine, Cairo University responsible for the following tasks:

(October 2011 - January 2015): Resident at the department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine, Cairo University responsible for the following tasks:
• Screening of new patients (average 50 patients per day).
• Comprehensive treatment for more than 200 orthodontic patients with different malocclusions.
• Manager of the orthodontic department’s clinic.
• Responsible for infection control in the orthodontic department’s clinic.
• Responsible and inspector for the nursing system in the orthodontic department’s clinic.
• Managing database systems for the orthodontic department’s cases.
• Participating in teaching interns basics of orthodontic armamentarium, appliances, diagnosis and management.
• Organizing and participating in two journal clubs per week.
