Assistant Professor

I have multiple years of expertise in the research area of soil sciences and its related disciplines. This journey started after graduating from the Soil Science Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Cairo University in 2004. In the final year of my bachelor study, I joined the Egyptian Agriculture Research Centre and the National Research Centre as a trainee in the chemical analysis lab. Afterwards, I gained more experience while working for the Desert Research Centre as Research Assistant for one year. This was followed by more than ten years of teaching and research expertise in the Soil Science Department at Cairo University.

Besides my duties in research and teaching, I completed some advanced courses such as Geographic Information System (GIS). My diverse coursework has expanded my knowledge base of soil sciences and enriched my skill set in statistics and analyzing complex data. My extensive training in Egyptian research institutes prepared me well to finish my master degree at (Mediterranean Agronomic Institute, CIHEAM) Bari, Italy as well as another professional master in GIS and Remote Sensing at (Institute Agronomic per l'Oltremare (IAO) in collaboration with the University of Florence), Florence, Italy. Attending this professional master enriched my background in GIS and soil management.

Last but not least, my PhD in the field of Agricultural and environmental sciences (Nitrogen Balance In Soil Profile As Affected By Different Soil Types, Soil Water Regimes, Nitrogen Rates And Application Methods Using 15N Tracer Technique” from Milan University, Italy provided me with several opportunities to attend numerous international conferences and interact with scientists from Europe and all over the world. It enriched my expertise in soil degradation, salinization and fertility. Currently, I am conducting research as a visiting researcher under Indo- Africa C V Raman visiting Fellowship at Central Soil Salinity Research Institute (ICAR-CSSRI-Karnal, India), for three months.
