Khaled A. El-Metwally, was born in Cairo Egypt. He received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. form Cairo University 1987 and 1990 respectively. In 1994 he obtained his Ph.D form University of Calgary, Canada. He is currently a professor in Electrical Power Engineering and Machines Department, Cairo University, Egypt. During his academic career he supervised different MSc’s and PhD’s students. His research interests focus on power system stabilization and control, renewable energy systems, fuzzy logic modelling and control, automatic control, neural networks, genetic algorithms, particle swarm optimization, industrial control, autonomous systems. He also, has more than 20 years applied experiences form his work as a consultant for different industrial firms in the field of PLC Systems and SCADA System. He also worked as a consultant and installation supervisor for renewable energy projects that includes integration between PV solar and CSP and wind energies. Dr. Khaled El-Metwally works as a principle investigator, co-investigator and team member in different research and applied projects with focus on renewable energy field. He works as an associate editor in different journals and he is the Middle East associated editor of the IJMIC. He is also an author and co-author of more than 75 scientific papers at variety of international journals and international refereed conferences He is a co-author of the IEEE book on “Fuzzy Logic Controller as Power System Stabilizer”. |
