Abstract:

A simple density-dependent effective nucleon-nucleon interaction is used to show the effect of compressibility of nuclear matter on the real part of the n+ 40Ca optical-model potential. It is found that the half-strength radius of the optical-model real potential decreases as the compression of nuclear matter increases.
