Course Information
- The overall objective of this course is to introduce students to principles and concepts of highway geometric and structural design.
- Highway system (driver, vehicle, and road) and the interaction between them as related to design (geometrically and structurally).
- Highway location, design standards, horizontal and vertical alignments, and cross-section elements are covered in geometric design.
- Highway materials, loading systems, pavement stresses, and pavement thickness design methods are covered in structural pavement design.
