Hazem A. Farouk, MD

Hazem A. Farouk, M.D  an Orthopedic Consultant , Cairo University Hospitals. He started his career in Cairo University school of Medicine to graduate in 2003 (M.B.B.cH). He was selected to join Cairo University Hospitals residency program and was nominated by the Department to join the faculty as a member in the teaching academic staff. He completed his Master Degree in Orthopedic & Trauma surgery (2006-2008), from Cairo University with the essay titled "Role of arthroscopy in management of retinacular disorders of the knee"

 He continued his academic and clinical career in Cairo University Hospitals till present where he is a Lecturer in the Department. He has accomplished the Doctorate degree of Orthopedic, Trauma surgery & Sports injuries, Cairo University (2009-2011); with a thesis title: "All press fit technique in ACL arthroscopic reconstruction in ACL deficient knee; a prospective study.

He spent fellowships in U.K and Germany assisting in surgeries and attending outpatients and participating in the follow ups in the following hospitals;

  • Orthropedic Department,Pavia University- Italy.
  • Leeds General Infirmary “LGI”, NHS trust hospitals, Leeds University, UK.
  • Artico sport klinik, Villingen-Schwenningen, Deutschland
  • Marienkrankenhaus Orthopadische hospital, Duesseldorf, Deutschland

Educational activities:

  • A faculty member in the Sports Medicine Diploma held in Cairo and organized by the Egyptian Medical Syndicate in collaboration with the Arab Medical Union 
  • The founder and organizer of the “SIT” Sports Injuries team of Orhopaedic department, Cairo University.
  • A member of the organizing team for the weekly scientific activities held by the department including a monthly Journal Club and a monthly Instructional course lectures and a monthly Morbidity & Mortality meeting.
