I was graduated and qualified in medicine at Cairo University Medical School, Cairo, Egypt. After house jobs and 3 years residency at the Cardiovascular Department, I was appointed to be an assistant lecturer of Cardiovascular Medicine. In 2002, after I got the doctorate degree and promoted to be a lecturer of Cardiovascular Medicine at Cairo University Hospitals. In 2003, I was appointed Consultant Cardiologist at As-Salam International Hospital, Cairo, Egypt; El Borg Hospital, El-Mohandeseen, Giza, Egypt and the New Kasr El-Aini Teaching Hospital, Cairo, Egypt. On 2006, I had been appointed as a visiting consultant in Dar Al Fouad Hospital, 6th of October City, Egypt. On 2007, I had joined the cardiology department in Dr. Erfan and Bagedo General Hospital, Jeddah, KSA for 8 years where I was acting as a cardiology consultant and the head of the cardiac catheterization laboratory as well as the head of the telemetry unit.
I have an interest in interventional cardiology, cardiac rhythm disorders, clinical cardiac electrophysiology, catheter ablation techniques and implantable devices for rhythm control. Beside these, I am well trained on most of the non-invasive diagnostic techniques including echocardiography, duplex ultrasonography, Exercise stress testing, ambulatory ECG and blood pressure monitoring. I had worked with professor Galal M. El-Said in cardiac catheterization and interventional cardiology as well as the decedent professor Sherif El Degwi. I had performed plenty of diagnostic and interventional coronary procedures, balloon valvuloplasty of the mitral and pulmonary valves as well as diagnostic electrophysiological studies, RF ablation for different kinds of supraventricular and ventricular tachyarrhythmias and permanent single-chamber, dual-chamber and biventricular pacemaker implantation as well as ICD implantation.
I had also been promoted on 2007 to be an assistant Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine at Cairo University. I had performed more than 300 diagnostic and interventional coronary angiographies per year at Dr. Erfan Hospital and I had also initiated the service of cardiac electrophysiology in the same hospital.
