Dr. Osman is a Professor of Construction Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering-Cairo University and an Adjunct Professor with the Civil Engineering Department at the University of Toronto. Dr. Osman has extensive practical and research experience in 1) civil infrastructure asset management and 2) project and program management of civil infrastructure systems. Dr. Osman’s experience in the infrastructure domain spans highways, rail systems, water, and wastewater systems. Most of his practical experience was accumulated in Canada and the Middle East where he has worked on consulting projects with several international development agencies, private developers and government authorities. He has served as senior advisor to several transportation authorities, municipalities and water utilities in Canada and the Middle East on issues related to infrastructure design management, infrastructure condition assessment, performance measurement of infrastructure services and infrastructure investment planning. Teaching experience includes instructing 15 undergraduate and graduate courses that were delivered at Cairo University, AUC, University of Toronto, and Nile University in the areas of construction engineering, project management and infrastructure management. On the research front he has supervised 25 PhD and MSc theses and published 55 peer-reviewed journal and conference papers. He is the receipt of numerous awards including the Egyptian State Encouragement Award in Engineering Science in 2012.Dr. Osman received his Ph.D. from the University of Toronto and is a registered professional engineer in the province of Ontario, Canada and a Project Management Professional (PMP).
