Hanan Nazir is a professor at the Economics Department, Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University. She received her Ph.D. in Economics, in November 2009 at Cairo University. Her field of expertise is applied micro-econometrics, on gender and labor issues in Egypt and developing countries in general. She has published her research articles in different international peer-reviewed journals, including Middle East Development Journal, International Journal of Development Issues, and International Journal of Economics and Business Research. She was the Head of the Labour Market Policies Unit at the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development and International Cooperation. She is also a member of the National wage council.
