Biography

Hamada Abdelrahman is Associate Professor of soil chemistry and fertility at Soil Science Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Cairo University.

Hamada has been awarded the BSc degree at the Faculty of Agriculture, Cairo University in June 2003 graded Excellent with Honor. He studied Soil Science as a major and Agricultural Microbiology as a minor. Hamada was awarded the 1956 Alumni award for the Academic Excellence during his BSc studies.

In October 2008, Hamada was awarded the MSc degree from the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Bari, Italy where he studied the organic farming in the Mediterranean Basin.

In 2009 Hamada enrolled for PhD program, after competitive examination, at the University of Bari with Prof. Teodoro Miano. Hamada spent most of 2011 at the USDA-ARS National Laboratory for Agriculture and the Environment performing an innovative procedure of fractionation and characterization of soil organic carbon. Hamada prepared a PhD thesis entitled “fractionation and characterization of soil organic carbon during transition to organic farming: and was awarded the PhD title in May 2012.

Hamada has published few papers in referred journals and conference proceedings. He attended international and national conferences, workshops and  training and summer courses. Hamada speaks fluently English, good Italian and Arabic (mother tongue) and has been to several countries for training/conference/short visits and tourism including: Turkey, France, Austria, The Netherlands, Belgium, Poland, USA, Spain, China, Germany Portugal, Japan, and Denmark.
