The supervision was collaboration between Southampton and Menoufiya Universities, and the work was partially done in Menoufiya University, Egypt, and partially in Southampton University, UK. It was in Computer Science, and was titled” Implementation of Prolog Using Massively Parallel Processes".
Prof. Fatma A. Omara is Professor in the Computer Science Department, Faculty of Computers and Information, Cairo University. She has published over 120 research papers in prestigious international journals, and conference proceedings. She has served as Chairman and member of Steering Committees and Program Committees of several national and International Conferences. She has supervised over 55 Ph.D. and M.Sc. students. Prof. Omara is a member of the IEEE and the IEEE Computer Society. Prof. Omara interests are Parallel and Distributing Computing, Distributed Operating Systems, High Performance Computing, Grid, Cloud Computing, Big Data.
Prof.Fatma Omarahas been selected to be at the top of female engineers for National Women in Engineering Day (NWED2016) because her article “Genetic algorithms for task scheduling problem,” was the most popular engineering paper on Science Direct between October and December 2015. This announcement has been published in the NWED2016 site under the title: "Tomorrow’s leading engineers"
#NWED2016 is an international awareness campaign to raise the profile of women in engineering and focus attention on the amazing career opportunities available to girls in this exciting industry. تم إختياري علي قمة قائمة المهندسين الأناث التي لها تأثير في الهندسة لعام 2016 نظرا لأن لي ورقة بحثية هي الأكثر مرجعية وشيوعا للباحثين في مجال علوم الحاسب خلال شهري أكتوبر ونوفمبر وديسمبر 2015 . هذة الورقة أصبحت مرجعا أساسيا في مجال الحوسبة العالية الآداء. تم الأعلان علي هذا الحدث علي الموقع الإلكتروني لهذة الحملة تحت عنوان: "المهندسين رواد الغد"
