I believe as a University teacher that I must provide students with a chance to have choice in their learning. I like to go beyond the conventional curriculum to build a more relevant and engaging experience that connects to the lives of young people, employ practices like self-directing learning, shared decision-making, individualized project-based work.
I share in Meaningful youth voice forums providing students with the opportunity to be part of educational planning and decision-making such as through student councils and student-teacher-administrator committees, encourage my students to join University programs engaging young adults in the development of their own learning plans and in community decision-making
Non-profit and after-school programs implementing for empowering young people to explore their personal interests and connect to the outside community.
As a Council member in Medical Syndicate, I shared in changes recently made to health related sector laws, study and evaluation of all aspects of medical practice, including ensuring that there is an adequate continuing supply of well-qualified physicians to meet the medical needs of the public; review and recommendation of policies for medical education and continuous medical training, recommendation of the methods whereby physicians may be assisted in maintaining their professional competence.
