Dr.Elshaimaa Ismael is an Assistant Professorof Veterinary Hygieneat Faculty of Veterinary Medicine,Cairo University. She was born in Giza (Egypt) on September, 3 1983 and received her veterinary medical degree at Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Cairo University in 2005, Master (2009) and Ph.D. (2014) in veterinary sciences. She was appointed to Assistant Professor in 2019 in the same university. She has authored or coauthored 15 peer reviewed articles. She presented numerous presentations and lectures in the fields of Veterinary Hygiene and Epidemiology. She has supervised 3 Master and PhD Theses. She completed a post-doctoral training at the NationalReference Laboratory OIE/FAO for Avian Influenza and Newcastle Disease, Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale delle Venezie,Italy, in 2013. She completed the “Quantitative Research” Module of the training program “Research Methods and their Applications in Guiding and Evaluating Policies and Programs”. At the Social Research Center of theAmerican University in Cairo, Egypt in 2015. She completed the “MIEH 607:Global Classroom: Risk based approach to ensure global food safety and security.” A collaboration between theUniversity of Maryland, USA and Cairo University, Egypt; Online module in 2018.

Research Interest:Animal Hygiene, Veterinary Epidemiology, Avian Influenza, Disinfection, Disease prevention & control
