Abdelsalam Elawwad is a Professor of Environmental Engineering at Cairo University. He joined the Environmental and Sanitary Engineering department at Cairo University since October 2005. He is involved in teaching and curriculum development of the undergraduate, and graduate programs in Environmental and Sanitary Engineering.
Elawwad earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Cairo University in May 2005. After that, he started his graduate studies at Cairo University where he received his Master’s Degree in May 2008 and he received his Doctoral Degree in May 2012. During his doctoral studies, he got a scholarship from DAAD to study in Germany. He worked as a research assistant at Martin Luther University, Halle (Germany) between 2009 and 2011. He has supervised dozens of MSc and PhD fellows in the field of Environmental and Sanitary Engineering. He published many papers in peer-reviewed journals.
