Dr. Eman is an assistant professor at the Information Technology Dept. Faculty of Computers and Information, Cairo University. She received her Ph.D. in Computer Science from Virginia Tech, USA, 2015 where she worked as a graduate research assistant. She earned her M.Sc. and B.Sc. from Faculty of Computers and Information, Cairo University, 2009, and 2004 respectively where she ranked first on her class.
During her Ph.D., she was a part of the computational biology and bioinformatics group where she developed multiple bioinformatics tools, utilizing her background in data mining and machine learning, to understand different biological phenomena and derive well informed conclusions. She had also studied and analyzed RNA-Seq data for human genome using different protocols along with other next generation sequencing data.
Her research interests include: machine learning, pattern recognition, data mining, bioinformatics and computational biology. She is particularly interested in developing computational tools and algorithms for genomics and transcriptomics applications using machine learning and graph mining.
