Rehab Mahmoud Hafez is an Associate Professor of Plant Cytology and Genetics (in 2020) from Botany and Microbiology Department, Faculty of Science, Cairo University, Cairo, Egypt. She completed her B.Sc. in Botany (in 1996), M.Sc. in Cytogenetics (in 2006) and Ph.D. in Cytogenetics (in 2013) at Cairo University.
She has languages, computer and statistical skills.
She teaches different lectures and practical courses to both under and post graduate students.
She supervises on M.Sc. and Ph.D. theses.
Her research interests lie in the area of Cytology and Genetics in relation with tissue culture, mutation, transformation, biotechnology, phytoremediation and bionanotechnology.
She has 30 publication in international journals, 30 accessions in gene bank and 8 abstracts in conferences. In addition, she attended 6 scientific training courses, 9 international conferences, several workshops, symposium and webinars. She is a reviewer in 15 International Scientific Journals. She is a member in the Egyptian Botanical Society and in the Egyptian Society of Experimental Biology.
She attended numerous training courses: 20 FLDC, one in quality assurance, 8 in Quality Assurance of Education and 5 in ISO 9001/20015.
She had 2 certificates of appreciation for outstanding performance and efforts from her Department and Faculty.
She has lots of activities in her Department, Faculty and University:
She is a member in some Committees in Botany and Microbiology Department (since 2013).
She is a member of the Stuff and Student Affairs Committee of the Board of Directors of the Chemistry/Microbiology Program (since 2018)
She was the Director of Questionnaires Unit, Quality Assurance Unit in Faculty of Science, Cairo University (2015-2020).
She is also an internal auditing for quality management systems in her Faculty (since 2017).
She was a consultant of the Social Committee for Students Welfare in her Faculty (2019-2020).
She is the president of Wafedeen committee in her Faculty (since 2020).
She is a scientific member in scientific heritage center-Cairo University (since 2021).
