Prof. Taymour Mostafa is an emeritus Professor of "Andrology, Sexology & STIs" at the University of Cairo, Egypt. He was the ex-director of The New Kasr Al-Aini Teaching Hospital), in Cairo, Egypt. He graduated from the secondary school for advanced students in 1972, graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University, Cairo, Egypt 1978, resident in Andrology; Sexology & STIs Department, Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University, Cairo, Egypt 1980-1983, assistant lecturer 1983-1986, Lecturer 1986-1991, assistant professor 1991-1998 then professor since 1998. Author of more than 200 local as well as international publications in the field of Andrology, Sexology, Reproduction & STIs. Scientific points of interest include; reproduction, male infertility, apoptosis, stem cells, varicocele, erectile dysfunction, oxidative stress, sexual health, and pollution. Member of the International Society of Andrology (ISA), International Society of Sexual Medicine (ISSM), Middle East Society of Sexual Medicine (MESSM), and Vice-president of the Egyptian Society of Andrology (ESA-elect), then the President of ESA (elect) 2013. Awarded the ISSM/Pfizer congress celebration award (2005), Jean Francois Gentiese Award for the best basic research paper 2006 (Cairo), and 2008 (Brussels) from ISSM. Awarded Cairo University Prize for Excellence in Medical Sciences 2008, Cairo University Prize for Discretionary in Medical Sciences 2009, and Cairo University Prize for Distinguish 2013. Awarded the State Prize for Excellence in Medical Sciences 2011 and the State Prize for Discretionary in Medical Sciences 2017. He is a reviewer in several international periodicals related to reproduction and Men's health. Scopus citations 3871 with h-index 31. Google Scholar citations 6126 with h-index 44. He got patency from the Egyptian patent office in 2002 about a biochemical substance that controls sperm motility. Supervisor for 75 theses reproductive and sexual sciences in different Universities. He was the director of the University Supreme Council's promotion committee (Dermatology & Andrology) in Egypt. He is the Assistant editor of the Human Andrology journal, a member of the editorial board (BMC Urology journal), a member of the editorial board (Andrology Open Access Journal), and the Academic editor of the British Journal of Medicine, Medical Research, and the editorial board of Sexual Health- Remedy Open Access journal. In 2015, the Scientific Research Academy of Egypt chose him as a fellow and a member of the national medical research committee. In 2016 he was selected for the editorial board Annals of the Academy of Romanian Scientists Series on Biological Sciences (Editura AOSR). Consultant for the Sudanese Society of Andrology. As a general public surface, he was the head of the Medical Committee of the Al-Ahly Sports Club (2013-2016). He was awarded the state Medal of Science and Arts of the first class in 2019. Listed in Stanford University (USA) list within the top 2% of scientists worldwide in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024 respectively. Member of the Global Andrology Forum (GAF).
