Biography
Dr. Sahar is Professor of Clinical and Chemical Pathology – Kasr Al Ainy School of medicine – Cairo University with major interest in diagnostic Laboratory Hematology. As a staff member of the Hematology Unit for more than 35 years, she mastered, developed a vast array of Hematological assays in diagnosing malignant and non-malignant hematological disorders with expertise in bone marrow aspirate/biopsy and immunophenotyping. She carried out research and taught in different departments. She shared administrative duties in Clinical Pathology department as head of Internal Medicine Hospital Lab, New teaching Educational Hospital Lab and currently Dr. Sahar is the Head of Clinical and Chemical Pathology Department. She has designed, led and maintained the development of the curricula of basic Hematology for undergraduate courses and assessments. She directed the coordination of advanced postgraduate Hematology teaching and training programs (Master and Doctorate degrees) in Cairo University and other Universities. She supervised the research projects and dissertations of several MSc students, MD students, research associates and postdocs. She co-authored and peer-reviewed several novel research publications in National and International Journals. She was a member of the editorial board of the Egyptian Journal of Laboratory Medicine. She has contributed in National and International conferences. She was awarded the excellence in flow Cytometric research from Beckman Coulter Inc.: The Second International Conference and Exhibition for Laboratory Technology Analysis, Diagnostic and Biotechnology for the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
