Omaya Khalifa

Omaya Ibrahim Khalifa is a Professor of drama and Translation Studies at the Department of English Language and Literature, the Faculty of Arts, Cairo University.  She has done her graduate studies on drama and literary translation. Completing her BA in English language and literature at Cairo University, she has received an MA in Comparative literature from The American University of Cairo and a PhD from Cairo University.  Her PhD thesis is entitled “The Changing Image of Shakespeare in Arabic: A Study of the Different Arabic Translations of Shakespeare 1900-1970”. Her research interests cover a wide range of topics: translation theory and Translation Studies, comparative literature, cultural studies and drama.
