School Qualifications:

1990- 2001 Orman language school graduated with certificate of general secondary education, science section with success percent of 98.

Graduate Qualifications:

Bachelor degree in internal medicine and surgery (2007) Kasr Al Ainy with excellent grades.

Post –graduate Qualifications:

  1. Master's degree

    in Psychiatry and Addiction medicine (2012) Kasr Al Ainy, Cairo University.

  2. Doctorate degree (MD)

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

March 2008 – March 2009

: House officer in kasr Al Ainy hospital where I passed 3 months in each of internal medicine and general surgery and two months in each of gynecology and obstetrics, pediatrics and emergency department.

 

May 2009- August 2012:

Psychiatry and Addiction medicine residency in

kasr Al Ainy hospital

 May 2009- February 2010:

General rotation where I passed 3 months in each of internal medicine, internal medicine emergency and neurology department.

February 2010

August 2012:

Residency in psychiatry department where I passed

18 months in adult psychiatry unit, 8 months in addiction unit, 5 months in each of liaison psychiatry unit, pediatric psychiatry unit and adolescent unit and 2 months in geriatric psychiatry unit. 

PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES:

  • Clinical Experience:

-       3 months in each of internal medicine and general surgery and two months in each of gynecology and obstetrics, pediatrics and emergency department as a house officer.

 

-       Residency for 3 months in each of internal medicine, internal medicine emergency and neurology department.

-       Residency in psychiatry department where I passed

18 months in adult psychiatry unit, 8 months in addiction unit, 5 months in each of liaison psychiatry unit, pediatric psychiatry unit and adolescent unit and 2 months in geriatric psychiatry unit.

-         Individual psychotherapy.

-         Group psychotherapy (either as co-therapist, main or the only therapist):

  1. With outpatient adolescent females (2011),
  2. With inpatient male patients (here and now) (2012-2013),
  3.  With inpatients of addiction unit (motivational and CBT)(sporadic group sessions from 2011-2016)
  4. With heterogeneous group of outpatients (eclectic) (2012-2013).
  5. With mothers of adolescent female patients (2015).

-         Teaching psychology curriculum for postgraduate in the first and second parts of master (for peers and friends; non- professionally).

-         Community round assignment in the 5th year of college (research and presentation).

-         Pediatric round assignment in the 5th year of college.

-         Surgery round assignment in the 6th year of college about cancer breast in females.

-         Master's degree thesis: Suicidality and Depression in Female Patients with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (2012).

-         MD degree thesis:  Characteristics of tramadol dependent patients compared to heroin dependent patients (2016).

-         Currently working on a gender difference in vivtrol injection(accepted for publication in 2016).

A Fogarty Fellow (Fogarty is Joint Grant from University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) to Cairo University) from 2013 till now.
