Moataz M. H. El Ayadi received the B.Sc.(Hons.) degree in electronics and communication engineering and the M.Sc. degree in engineering mathematics and physics from Cairo University, Giza, Egypt, in 2000 and 2004, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Waterloo, Waterloo, ON, Canada, in 2008.

From 2000 to 2004, he was a Teaching Assistant with the Department of Engineering Mathematics and Physics, Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University. From 2004 to 2008, he was a Research and Teaching Assistant with the Center of Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, University of Waterloo. From January 2009 toMarch 2010, he was also a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with theMultimedia Laboratory, The Edward S. Rogers Sr. Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Toronto, Toronto, ON, Canada.

Since April 2010, he has been an Assistant Professor with the Department of Engineering Mathematics and Physics, Cairo University. From March 2012 to March 2014, he was a Senior Research Expert with Orange Labs, Cairo, Egypt. Since April 2014, he has been working in several industrial places as a Data Scientist in speech recognition applications.

His research interests include signal processing, performance analysis of automatic speech recognition, speaker identification, digital communication systems, statistical pattern recognition, semantic analysis, natural language call routing, and signal processing applications.


Dr. El Ayadi has served as a Reviewer for many peer-reviewed journals. He received Publication Awards from Cairo University in 2012 and 2013, as well as Faculty of Engineering Scholarships from the University ofWaterloo in 2005
