o   Assistant consultant of Pediatric Cardiology in King Faisal Specialist Hospital and research center, Jeddah, Suadi Arabia from 9. 2012 till 7/2016.

 

Clinical responsibilities:

 General Pediatrics                 

-          Out patient clinic once per week.

-          Out patient conference following out patient clinic

-          Bed side clinical rounds with residents once per week

-          Staff round of our unit once per week

-          Grand staff round of pediatric departments once per month

-          Bed side clinical round in emergency room and the casualty unit once per month.

Pediatric cardiology

1.      Doing Doppler echocardiography for about 20 cases once per week in echocardiography unit of Cairo University Pediatric hospital.

2.      Doing diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization in catheterization unit of CUPH twice per week.

3.      Supervising and following out patient clinic of pediatrics cardiology clinic once per week.

4.      Bed side clinical round and doing echocardiography in ICU for post operative patients of closed and open heart surgery.

 

Teaching Responsibilities:

  • Undergraduate teaching for final year medical students of faculty of medicine, Cairo University in clinical rounds.
  • Postgraduate teaching, Faculty of medicine, Cairo University in clinical rounds, pediatric cardiology and arrhythmias.

-          Cardiac ICU:  post operative care of open heart surgery from March2004 till 2012:

  • ·         All types of congenital heart surgery, about 400 cases yearly.
  • ·         Skills: central lines, arterial lines, endotracheal intubation. Non invasive and invasive ventilation, bed side transvenous temporary pacemaker lead insertion, bed side Rashkind procedure, pericardiocentesis, all modes of temporary pacing, transoesophageal pacing.

-          Pediatric arrhythmia clinic from March2004 till now: 

  • ·         Follow up of cases with supraventricular, ventricular arrhythmias and heart block.
  • ·         ECG interpretation.
  • ·         Holter recording and interpretation.
  • ·         Pace maker programming.

-          Echo cardiography unit from October2004:

  • ·         Acyanotic and cyanotic heart diseases including complex types.

-          Cath-lab unit from October2005:

  • ·         Diagnostic cardiac catheterization.
  • ·         Rashkind procedure.
  • ·         Valvular pulmonary and aortic stenosis.
  • ·         Pulmonary branches stenting.
  • ·         Coarctation balloon dilation.
  • ·         Cardiac defect closure by interventional catheterization as ASD, PDA and VSD closure.
