- Dec. 2011 - present: Associate Professor

- 2002: Obtained a Phd. The dissertation revolves around the re-writing of the contemporary Western fairy tale from a feminist perspective, with particular emphasis on Britain and the U. S. A. 

Title of dissertation: "`Wayward Girls and Wicked Women': The Writing and Re-Writing of Fairytales"

- 1994: Obtained an M.A. 

Title of dissertation: "A Study of the Fantastic in Henry James's Supernatural Tales."

- 1988: Obtained a B.A. with Honors

- Professional Experience: Participated in designing various courses in English Fiction, American Studies, Comparative Literature and Cultural Studies. 

- Taught courses on the postgraduate level: M.A. and PhD. : Mythology, History of Ideas, Children's Literature.

- Taught courses in English Fiction, Comparative Studies, American Studies and Women's Writing.

- Currently co-supervising M.A. theses in Translation, Gothic and Fairy Tale Studies and Children's Literature.

- Publications revolve around research conducted in the following areas of research interest: Middle Eastern Studies, Fairy Tale Studies, Postmodern Fiction, Contemporary Arabic Fiction and Cultural Studies. 

- Member of the International Comparative Literature Association (ICLA); The British Society for Middle Eastern Studies (BRISMES); The International Association for the Fantastic in the Arts (IAFA).
