Biography
Ahmed Amer is an Assistant Lecturer in Public Works Department of Faculty of Engineering of Cairo University. Dr. Amer received his Ph.D. degree in civil engineering from Virginia Tech University, Blacksburg, VA, USA in 2010. He received his B.Sc. (with honors) and M.Sc. degrees in civil engineering from Cairo University, Giza, Egypt, in 2001 and 2006, respectively. Since 2001, Mr. Amer was involved in many transportation-related projects in Egypt and United States. Dr. Amer has diverse transportation engineering experience that includes transportation research, transportation safety, transportation planning, and traffic design. His project experience has focused on roundabouts, traffic incident management, signal design, ITS design, traffic operations and simulation. He also has major expertise in data management, technical and statistical analysis of data, as well as data collection and surveys. Dr. Amer's software expertise includes Synchro, VISSIM, AutoCAD, MicroStation, GuidSIGN, ArcGIS, SPSS, SAS JMP, MATLAB, and Adobe Design.
