Aya Abdelaziz received the B.S., M.S., and PhD degrees, both in electrical engineering, from Cairo University, Cairo, Egypt, in 1998, 2001, and 2009, respectively. From 1998 to 2000, she was a teaching assistant in the electrical and engineering department, Cairo University, where her research dealt with microwave circuits design and analysis. From 2000 to 2001, she was a Research assistant in the microwave lab, electrical and engineering department at the University of Maryland, College Park, where she worked on microwave circuits, optimization and microwave devices. From 2006 to 2009, she was an assistant lecturer in electrical and engineering department, Cairo University, where she worked on metamaterials research and applications. She is currently working as an assistant professor, Cairo University. Her research interests are in the area of metamaterials, microwave circuits, and computer aided design.
