Dr Ahmed Fahmy

received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Biomedical Engineering from Cairo University (Egypt) in 1997 and 2000 respectively. He received M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Johns Hopkins University (Maryland, USA) in 2003 and 2006 respectively.

Dr Fahmy is currently an associate professor of Biomedical Engineering in Cairo University (Cairo, Egypt). He is also the director of the Medical Imaging research lab and the Informatics academic program in Nile University (Cairo, Egypt).

In 2013, Dr Fahmy received the State-of-Egypt Encouraging Award in Engineering Sciences for his scientific contribution in the biomedical engineering field. He also became a senior member in the IEEE institute in 2012. Dr Fahmy is the principal investigator in a number of internationally funded research projects and has more than 70 peer-reviewed scientific articles. Dr. Fahmy’s current research includes medical imaging, image processing, system modeling, and stochastic analysis.
