Bio

Abeer A. Mahrous, Ph.D., Professor of Marketing at Cairo University and Deputy Editor in Chief of the Journal of Humanities and Applied Social Sciences, JHASS.
Dr. Abeer graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Faculty of Commerce, Cairo University. She received her masters' in Business Administration from the same University, and obtained her Ph.D. through a joint supervision scholarship between Cambridge University, UK, and Cairo University. She worked as an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Commerce, CU, in 2006 and became a Professor of Marketing in 2018.

She published more than 30 refereed articles in top journals and conferences in Marketing and Business Administration. She co-authored books published internationally and nationally and is considered one of the most researchers from the social sciences sector, receiving international publishing awards at Cairo University. Her research focuses on digital, social, sustainable, and higher education marketing. Her research provided insights into consumers' privacy concerns, information search behavior, and online purchasing decisions. Also, it developed strategies to improve the effectiveness of social marketing initiatives and programs. Finally, her research helps build a strong nation brand and destination image strategies.

Dr. Abeer is a reviewer in some top-notch journals. She is one of the founders of the first international journal in humanities and applied social sciences (JHASS) at Cairo University in partnership with the international publisher Emerald. She is currently the deputy EIC of JHASS.
She established a scientific school of thought on the use of technology in marketing, and the contributions of this school included several important research at the master and doctoral levels and research published in prestigious scientific journals. She also carried out some research projects funded by Cairo University and some educational and international organizations in the field of higher education and the environment.

The main driver of her academic initiatives is to create communication channels and academic clusters to encourage knowledge and cultural exchange between prestigious foreign universities and national universities in Egypt. Therefore, she brought distinguished foreign researchers and professionals to Egypt to hold scientific seminars or to participate as speakers in international conferences in cooperation with some international organizations such as the cultural section of the American embassy and the Fulbright Commission. Besides, she helped in developing degree programs/agreements with foreign universities.

Dr. Abeer created the virtual society "M Theory" in 2017 to help Egyptian researchers. It represents a humble attempt to offer a space for business researchers to share and engage in discussions about business research trends, research methodology, conferences and events, and scholarship opportunities.
